I know, literally everyone must be blogging now if I am doing it, huh? Next your cat will have a blog. I am going to focus mainly on pictures, because I figure you really want to look at pictures of the kids, rather than listen to me 'blog', such as it is.
We have had a good week.
Thursday the Bates-Domenech family came over. Here is Maria Luisa holding "baby" Henry. He loves the attention, as you can see. I think he weighs about half as much as she does now.
Madi spent some special pre-Halloween time with Stanley, her own personal black cat.
Madi and Henry had the 'spooktacular' at daycare. All the kids dressed up and paraded around the block with Mr. Bob, among many other fun activities. Madi is the bat (just right of center).

At school, even Tim's graduate students dressed up for Halloween - as Tim! Stacey (right) was the best Tim, although Adam (to the left of Tim) was a close second. Eric (far left) was the 'Tim of the future'. Apparently there are some bad sweaters in your future, Tim.
Then we went to Dan and Renee's house for Thai food. Scott and Melanie came over with their family too. Maria Luisa was Hannah Montana, Ceci was a fairy, Lilly was a vampire, and Ryan was Iron Man. Madi of course was a bat.

Henry was a skunk in an earlier incarnation, but for Halloween itself he went as a hunter in his camouflage. We liked him as a skunk, but he objected and kept trying to pull his head off. So he was a hunter. Here he is at daycare in his elaborate costume. He was pretty excited.
After dinner we went to Sunshine Terrace, a retirement home. The residents were in the lobby handing out candy to all the kids. Madi loved it. She went around twice. Later she said it was her favorite part of all day. We met a very nice man named Irving. He is 94 years old and originally from Poland. We spoke Polish together for a little bit. He really liked Melanie a lot. We know because he asked her if she was married.
Later we went trick-or-treating on Center Street where there are lots of old spooky Victorian houses. Madi had a great time. Henry on the other hand was starting to get pretty tired. He was a good sport all evening, but by 8:00 p.m. he had seen one too many people in weird costumes. He was glad to get home and go to bed with his plethora of binkies. It may look silly, but he sleeps from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. now, so don't knock it.
Madi stayed up late sampling candy and little toys from trick-or-treating. She had a great day.
Tim showed her how to eat pop rocks (sent by GaGa), but she was not particularly impressed. Tim seemed to enjoy them, though.
