Ok, so I'll start with the good news: Henry is still urinating. That is our good news for Henry today so far. That's about it.
Bad news: His ear infection did not respond to the original antibiotic. He started throwing up yesterday morning. He did not keep down any food yesterday. Yesterday evening we started Pedialyte. He vomited up his antibiotic. He vomited up his Tylenol.
Today, he has only had Pedialyte and formula. At this point, he is getting 10 ml of Pedialyte every 10 minutes pretty successfully. If we go over that amount, or if we try formula, he usually vomits. We keep trying though. I can feel him getting lighter.
At some point, honestly, our thinking went from "I hope Henry gets better soon" to "I hope Henry is not hospitalized". He is still urinating, which according to his doctors is the key, so we are succeeding in our ambitious goal.
Madi has been happy staying home and helping out with Henry the past two days. Plus she gets to watch the Aristocats every 2 hours on average. Madi got conjunctivitis (the dreaded 'pink eye'), but she does not have an ear infection. We are happy about that.
The good thing about this all is that Henry is a really sweet, happy baby. Even like this, for the most part. Thank goodness for that!
We are looking forward to his recovery and will keep you posted.
