Madi talking and Henry walking

Madi continues to have a good recovery so far. She has been eating and drinking a lot. Here she is with her dinner tonight (above). She ate all of that except the mashed potatoes, and also had some pears and Ben and Jerry's ice cream (not pictured).

Here she is (below) with the Camel Bak full of water (on the couch) and a glass of juice.

Here is a photo of her vocal chords. They are supposed to be completely smooth, but you can see the sort of hook-like projections on hers about 1/3 of the way down. Hopefully this will go away.

Both kids have been having a good time with GaGa. Here Henry models his new hat.

Madi's voice does sound different so far. She sounds to me like she has been breathing helium. Here you can hear for yourself. The adenoid removal in particular might affect her voice because they are behind the nose and were huge and draining. Her voice will gradually adapt over the next couple weeks, we have been told.

Henry meanwhile has been gradually walking a little more each day. Now he is up to five steps at a time! We are very excited.

THANK YOU for the update. I was thinking earlier that it would be nice to receive a DAILY update until things were kinda' "back to normal". What is the "CAMEL BAK"? It is comforting to see her doing so well. How neat to be able to see pics of the vocal cords. Modern technology certain has its advantages. Henry is CUTE! Those first attempts at walking are joyous!!! How wonderful that we can participate...

I am so glad that Madi is ok! Loved to see her singing ;o). Give her a biiiggg hug (and some ice cream ;o)) from me. And Henry is so big! Uau! Thank you for sharing all that, it is really nice to see how they are doing and growing up so fast!

We are so glad to hear that Madi is doing well, hopefully her throat doesn't scab up and make it hard to eat. Even if her voice doesn't change, I love her blues singer voice. She has always loved camelbaks (Grethel, that is a small backpack that holds water, it takes the place of a canteen), she's probably ready for her own to take on hikes. Madi's life will never be the same once Henry starts running all over the place. I'm sure Ga-Ga is having fun with the kids, give her and everyone else our love.
Love,
Uncle James, Teresa, Zack & Bryce

Thanks, James, for telling me about the CAMEL BAK. The BLOG shows me as "Grethel". However, you know me as "Charlene" or GRANDMOTHER ODUM!!!
