So Henry ended up at the ER, and it really wasn't that bad. By which I mean not as horrible as I had imagined. Shortly after my last post, he threw up again, and we were ready for professional assistance. I took him in and we were there about 2 hours. Most of that time was just the rehydrating process.
The worst part of course was getting him set up with the i.v. fluids. He did not like that AT ALL. They also gave him a drug to combat nausea. Soon after that, they offered him a popsicle and he said yes!
It was such a relief to see him interested in having something hydrating by mouth, because he had been refusing everything most of the day. And to have him getting lots of i.v. fluid too, of course.
So he is all set for now and will be taking the anti-nausea medication for 24 hours. He is sleeping soundly and I plan to get that way.
